Why does a 4K channel look like 1080p?
Four causes account for most of it. The source may be upscaled at origin, in which case the resolution is nominally right and the detail was never there. Your television may be set to a fixed output that rescales everything. Or the line may be delivering below the required bitrate, and adaptive delivery is quietly serving a lower rung.
