MAG Box Setup — Portal URL and MAC Address Binding

A MAG box works differently from everything else on this site. There is no app store and nothing to install — the box loads its entire interface from a portal address you type into its settings, and the server identifies you by the MAC address printed under the box. That means a manual bind on our side is not optional, it is the login.

Allow six minutes: a couple to find the MAC and send it over, a couple for support to bind it, and a couple to enter the portal and restart. If you have not bought a box yet, or you are unboxing one now, start with the MAG buying and first-boot guide instead.

Step by step

Pointing a MAG at your portal

Nothing here installs software. You are configuring the box to load its interface from our server.

  1. 1

    Find the MAC address

It is on the sticker underneath the box, and every MAG MAC begins 00:1A:79. You can also read it from Settings → System Settings → Device Info if the sticker has worn off.

Tip · Photograph the sticker rather than transcribing it. A misread B for 8 costs you the same six minutes twice over.

  2. 2

Send the MAC to support and wait for the bind

Message it to WhatsApp at 212704548494 or email [email protected] with your order details. We attach your line to that MAC on the portal side.

Tip · Nothing you do on the box will work before this. The portal has no username field to fall back on, so the bind has to come first.

  3. 3

Open the portal settings on the box

Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals. Give Portal 1 any name you like — the name is only a label for you.

Tip · If the menu looks unfamiliar, press the Setup or Menu key on the MAG remote from the main screen. The route is the same across MAG generations.

  4. 4

    Enter the portal URL exactly

Type the portal address from your activation email into Portal 1 URL. It usually ends in /c/ and that trailing part is not decoration.

Tip · A missing /c/ is the single most common MAG mistake, and it produces a blank screen rather than an error message. Check it before saving.

  5. 5

    Save and restart the portal

Press OK or F1 to save, then choose Restart Portal from the settings menu — or simply pull the power for ten seconds.

Tip · The box caches aggressively. If nothing changes after saving, the restart is the step that was skipped.

  6. 6

Set the output resolution to match your TV

Settings → System Settings → Video → Resolution. Pick 1080p60 on an HD set, or 2160p on a MAG that supports it rather than leaving it on auto.

Tip · MAG 250, 254 and 322 are 1080p devices. Selecting 2160p on those does nothing useful — the buying guide lists which models decode 4K.

Most common snag

Portal not available, or a blank screen after restart

Two causes, and they account for nearly every MAG support message. Either the MAC has not been bound yet — the box asks the portal a question and the portal does not recognize the asker — or the portal URL is slightly wrong, most often a missing trailing /c/ or an http typed where the email says https. Check the URL character by character against the email first, then message support to confirm the bind is live. A blank screen is not a dead box, and it is not a dead subscription.

Device questions

What people ask about this one

Do I install anything on a MAG?
No. That is the point of the format. The box loads its entire interface — channel list, guide, on-demand sections — from the portal address each time it starts. There is no app store, no APK and no update to chase. The trade is that the box is useless until the MAC bind is done.
Which MAG models handle 4K?
The MAG 324, 424, 540 and 551 decode HEVC and output 2160p. The MAG 250, 254 and 322 are 1080p devices — they work perfectly well, but a channel we label 4K arrives on your TV as HD. If 4K is why you subscribed, check the model number before blaming the feed.
Can I move my line to a different MAG box?
Yes. Send support the new MAC and we swap the bind over. There is no charge and no limit on how often, but only one MAC can be active on a line at a time, so the old box stops working when the new one starts. Cloning a MAC onto a second box to get two streams does not work and tends to cause drops on both.
Why does MAG need a MAC bind when a Firestick does not?
Because the portal protocol has no login screen. The box announces its MAC address and the server decides what to serve based on that alone — the MAC is the username and the password combined. Xtream Codes players on other platforms send credentials instead, which is why they need no bind.

When you are ready

One URL and one MAC, then nothing to maintain

A MAG box needs no updates and no app store. Pick a plan, send us the MAC, and the portal does the rest every time you switch the box on.

No contract. 7-day money-back on every plan, trials excluded.

Stuck?

Blank screen? Send the URL you typed

Photograph the Portals screen with your URL visible and send it to 212704548494 on WhatsApp or [email protected]. We will confirm the bind is live and check the address in the same reply.
