It plays a list you give it. There are no channels inside it, no catalog, no account of its own. It reads an M3U playlist or an Xtream login from your service, decodes the video, draws a channel list and remembers where you were. That distinction explains most of the complaints filed against it. If channels are missing, the playlist is short. If a stream freezes, the source froze. If the guide is blank, the feed did not carry guide data. The app's job is narrow, and judging it by what your service delivers gets you nowhere.

Because the MAC address you typed is usually not the one the player registered. Samsung and LG sets built after 2021 can hand each installed app its own virtual MAC, so the value under Settings, Network, Status is often not the value the app uses. Read the address from the app's own start screen instead. Then remember the second address: every television carries one for Wi-Fi and one for Ethernet, and plugging in a cable presents a different identity than the wireless one you activated. Activate on the connection type you intend to keep.

Samsung and LG control what stays installed. Owners have reported IPTV players vanishing from the app row after a firmware update, sometimes in one region and not another, and that pattern has repeated across several model years. Reinstalling usually restores it, and the license follows the MAC address rather than the install, so you generally do not pay a second time. Plan for it anyway. Keep the playlist link saved somewhere off the television, and know which second device you would fall back to for the evening. Installs are unlimited here, so a spare stick can carry the same subscription immediately.

The player does not generate a guide. It renders whatever EPG data your service publishes, matched against channel IDs inside the playlist, so a blank grid points at the feed rather than the app. Two settings cause most of the remainder: an external EPG URL that no longer resolves, and automatic EPG detection competing with the guide your provider already supplies. Clear the external URL, switch detection off, reload the list. If a handful of channels stay blank while everything else fills in, those specific entries are missing their IDs and no setting on the television fixes that.
