Nothing about the box hardware itself decides this. A set-top box like a MAG unit, a Formuler, a BuzzTV, or an Android TV device such as an NVIDIA Shield or an ONN player all do the same job: run a player app that logs into your subscription and loads its playlist. Whether South Asian language and country categories show up depends entirely on how the service you're paying for organizes its channel groups, not on which box sits under your TV. Buying a more expensive box does not add regional categories that your plan doesn't already carry.

A dedicated IPTV box (MAG, Formuler, BuzzTV, TVIP) ships with its own portal software built for playlist logins, which some people prefer for a simpler, one-screen setup with fewer moving parts. An Android TV device, Firestick, Xiaomi box, or ONN player needs you to install a separate player app such as IPTV Smarters, TiviMate, Net IPTV, or SS IPTV first, then point that app at your account. Both routes end at the same place: you enter a server URL, username, and password (Xtream Codes) or paste an M3U playlist link, and the app displays whatever categories your subscription includes. Neither route unlocks anything the other one holds back, so pick based on how much setup you want to do, not on which one you've heard carries more regional content.

A blank guide or a missing group on a box usually isn't the whole account failing. A common pattern is an EPG mismatch: the program guide data exists in the source file, but the channel IDs in your playlist don't match the IDs in the guide feed, so the app shows no schedule for that group even though the underlying data is there. Another pattern shows up when you combine two playlist sources in one app; missing channels often trace to just one of those sources, not the app as a whole. Isolate which source or group is affected before assuming the whole box is broken.

Player apps hold your entire visible channel list in memory while they're open, and they start to destabilize once that list grows past roughly 18,000 entries. If you're combining multiple regional categories to get more Indian and Pakistani coverage, hide any groups and channels you don't actually watch rather than leaving everything visible. That single step does more for stability on a modest box than upgrading the hardware does, and it makes the guide and channel list load faster too. Some buffering, though, is oversold server capacity on the provider side, and no amount of trimming your visible list touches that; a published uptime figure, not a longer channel count, is the number worth checking before you commit to a plan.
