That's a hardware and architecture limitation baked into how the device and the streaming format both work, not something a hidden setting quietly turns on.

Some people run a separate capture setup on a PC or another device entirely, pulling the stream URL directly rather than trying to record through the Firestick app itself. That path exists and does technically work, but it adds its own storage management and reliability questions that the Firestick setup never had to deal with in the first place. It's also worth checking your local rules on recording streamed content before relying on this, since what's allowed varies by what you're capturing and where you live. Treat it as a workaround outside the device, not a Firestick feature you're simply missing.

Use the VOD library instead. Most IPTV subscriptions carry a large on-demand catalog that already holds recent movies and shows within a day or two of release, so rather than trying to capture something live as it airs, you search for it afterward and watch it whenever you want. Favoriting a title makes it easy to find again without searching from scratch, and it sidesteps every storage and reliability problem a real recording setup would introduce on a device like Firestick that simply wasn't built to write live streams to disk.
