'All channels' is a marketing phrase, not a spec. It usually means a provider has stitched together feeds from many regions and languages into one giant list, and it is presented as a single headline number because a single number is easier to advertise than an honest breakdown. That number tells you almost nothing about the channels you will actually watch, because the sections you care about could be five feeds or five hundred, buried inside a list that claims tens of thousands. Treat 'all channels' as a claim to test, the same way you would treat any other number a stranger posts online without a source.

Player apps hold the entire channel list in memory to build search, favorites and the guide, and they start to destabilize once a list holds around 18,000 visible entries. That means a service advertising 40,000 or 50,000 channels can actually load, scroll and search worse than one advertising a smaller, cleaner list, because the extra entries are mostly duplicate feeds rather than new content. A bigger number can be a warning sign as much as a selling point. Ask what a provider does to trim duplicates and hide unused groups, because that answer says more than the total.

During a paid trial, open the categories you actually watch and count the entries yourself instead of trusting the front-page total.
