Most current Xiaomi streaming hardware runs Android TV OS, and Android TV models from Xiaomi built since around 2019 — including Mi Box S and Xiaomi TV Stick 4K style hardware — carry a chip that decodes H.265, also called HEVC, in hardware at 4K resolution. That decode step is what turns compressed video back into a picture your TV can show.
